Apple is reportedly opening a new retail store in Rome, Italy, in the Porta di Roma shopping mall. The grand opening is said to coincide with Rome’s birthday, commemorating the city’s founding in 753 BC.

iSpazio reports [Google Translate] that Apple is planning to open its second retail store in Rome, Italy, on April 21, which falls on a Saturday.

The new venue is reportedly being rigged at the Porta di Roma shopping mall, which should open on the same day Rome commemorates its founding in 753 BC, the Italian web site reports.

It adds that the opening date has been confirmed by an “inside source”. A few photos are already available, supposedly depicting some of the work-in-progress for the building of the store.
