More suggestions rolled out by Google

Following yesterday's news that Google updated the search engine suggestions, a new update is revealed today as the Mountain View company's officials confirmed that this feature is now available in several new countries. A few days ago it was reported that Google has been working on the 'Did you mean' function in order to provide suggestions for URL links and domain names in order to offer related searches depending on users' queries. Today's improvements address several countries such as Romania, Hungary, Vietnam, Russia or Turkey. The related searches are displayed at the bottom of the page, just under the search results.

Basically, these updates allow you to get suggestions straight into your native language which is a pretty useful function able to increase the relevancy of the results.

"In addition to constantly improving our search algorithms to provide the best answer to your queries, we also look for ways to help when you don't know what exactly to type into the search box to get to the perfect result. When you are looking for information on a specific topic, we offer query suggestions on the search results page that you can click on to find information faster," Edmond Lau, Software Engineer, wrote today.

"Sometimes, the suggestions enable you to quickly narrow down the search. Sometimes, we present interesting related concepts that encourage you to explore further. You won't see these suggestions all the time; we only present them when we think they are relevant and useful."

However, the suggestions provided by Google's search engine are not always so useful for the searchers. For example, a suggestion provided by the Mountain View company in the past made us think that Google might be a misogynist search engine as it encouraged users to search for "he invented" even if they wrote "she invented".
