Roma Keeps Italian Cup Hopes Alive

AS Roma draw 1-1 with Inter Milano in the first leg of the Coppa Italia final. The Roman fans had nothing to cheer about, since Inter took an early league, thanks to a Cruz goal in the 7th minute of the game.

The spectacular football performed by Spaletti's team had no result until the end, except for Mancini's goal
10 minutes into the second half.

The big absence for Roma was Italian midfielder and team leader Francesco Totti. Even if he was out due to a leg injury more than a month ago, he was expected to play for Roma yesterday and help them win their first trophy since conquering the Scudetto in 2000.

He might not be ready for the second leg either, considering the fact that he just started training a week ago. Another bad news for Roma came at halftime, when Romanian defender Cristian Chivu had to remain on the bench because of a muscular problem.

The 1-1 score keeps both teams hopes alive, even if Inter seems favorite at first sight. When Roma met Inter this year, they managed not to fall behind, beating the Milanese side 3-2 at San Siro and drawing 1-1 at Olimpico.
