If you felt a bit left out the other week when Roku unveiled the v1.3 firmware update for the Roku 2 and Roku LT, you have no reason to feel that way anymore as the software has now also reached first-gen boxes.

Sporting an impressive changelog, the update brings features such as support for the official Roku iPhone app, improved playback of MP4 files streamed over the Internet and over USB, as well as the ability to purchase Roku players, accessories and toys from its Channel Store.

A couple of bug fixes were also included, but more important, as engadget points out, is that the player gets support for Amazon’s Instant Video channel.

The update should be pushed to all first-gen players over the network, but you can also manually update if you can't stand the wait.
