It might seem expensive, but being a displaybox in a much smaller package justifies it

Roku is a company that specializes in delivering multimedia straight to your TV, and the Streaming Stick is its latest brainchild.

Long story short, it is an HDMI-connected dongle that, without help from any other external source, or even a remote control, delivers all of Roku's services (TV programs, web media, etc.).

All it needs is for the TV set to be compliant with Mobile High-Definition Link. MHL for short, it is a proposed industry standard that lets devices connect and be powered by HD TVs.

Vudu, Netflix, Flickr, HBO and many, many other channels will become accessible once the Roku Streaming Stick has been plugged in. The only pitfall is that, last time we checked, Google had forced Roku to take down YouTube. A search on the web should reveal means to go around the restriction though.

The HDMI stick will sell in October, for $99.99 or 76-99.99 Euro.
