Most information was withheld, but the size, at least, is now known

Many of the so-called miniature media players aren't very miniature, but the Roku, at the very least, is small enough to qualify.

Roku's media streaming line is actually a fairly old one, and was last refreshed back in 2011.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has now revealed that a new Roku will appear sooner rather than later.

An exact time frame was not specified, and the majority of the hardware and software details were withheld as well.

Still, the filing does show the size of the item: 2.25-inches on each side (57 mm x 57 mm).

For comparison, the best Roku currently on sale measures 3.5 x 3.5 inches (89 x 89 inches).

The new Roku will have 2 GHz and 5 GHz W-Fi support. The official launch should happen over the next week or two.
