Anna Paquin's character had only one scene in the film, and it's been cut

For those of you that were looking forward to seeing the mutant Rogue in the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past” I have some bad news: you're not going to be seeing any silver locks of hair in this one.

Director of the movie Bryan Singer just told Entertainment Weekly that the only scene where Anna Paquin reprises her role as Rogue ended up on the cutting room floor.

“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it,” he said.

The director claims that the decision has nothing to do with Paquin, who was present on the set of X-Men just for this scene, and that she did a fantastic job. This particular part was shot in the early stages of the production and since then, a lot has changed.

Apparently, Paquin was cool about it, or so says the director because he was the one who broke the news to her. “She completely understood,” he said. “It’s very disappointing, but she’s very professional and she knows that stuff happens, particularly with material you shoot early on in production. Films evolve.”

The next movie in the X-Men franchise will see the return of the famous actors as mutants: Ian McKellen as Magneto, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Halle Berry as Storm; but also some new faces: Michael Fassbender as the young Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and James McAvoy as young Prefessor X.
