Research In Motion (RIM) announced a few days ago the upcoming availability of the BlackBerry PlayBook 4G LTE tablet.

Beginning August 9, the slate will be available for purchase in Canada through multiple major carriers, including Rogers, Bell and TELUS. However, RIM did not mention any details regarding the tablet's pricing options.

Fortunately, the guys over at MobileSyrup got their hands on a Rogers internal document, which confirms the following price points for the 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook: $549.99 CAD outright, $499.99 CAD on 1-year contracts, $449.99 CAD with new 2-year agreements and $349.99 CAD on 3-year terms.

In addition, employees have been specifically warned not to sell or display the 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook tablet until August 9.

We expect TELUS and Bell to offer similar pricing options for RIM's LTE-enabled tablet, but there are no confirmations yet, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
