Most of Canadian carriers have already confirmed they will offer the newly announced iPhone 4S at some point this year, but Rogers and Fido are among the first to allow their customers to reserve the smartphone beginning October 7.

Aside the two operators aforementioned, Bell, TELUS, Virgin, Fido and Koodo Mobile have been mentioned by Apple as some of the carriers that will be selling the iPhone 4S in Canada.

Hopefully, these carriers will soon offer their customers the chance to reserve their iPhone 4S devices through their own retail channels, as well.

Basically, Rogers allows existing postpaid customers to reserve their iPhone 4S devices without having to visit a store or even make a call.

However, Rogers reservation system extends to other new devices as well, but requires customers to sign up for a MyRogers account.

The next step after login to the newly created account is to click the “Device Reservation” button and select each device you want to reserve.

According to Rogers, customers who reserve their devices online will be emailed regularly with updates on the availability of the device reserved, but they will also be able to check their status in real time through their MyRogers account.

Furthermore, the carrier will charge a $40 (plus taxes) refundable reservation fee for each device reserved, which will be credited back to the customer account as soon as the device is shipped.

In addition, customers who want to cancel their reservation can do so at any time, as they will be refunded the $40 to their account.

Rogers customers who are checking the carrier's reservation system for the devices available will notice that the iPhone 4S has yet to be added, but the operator confirmed that it will be listed this Friday.

On related news, Fido informed its customers via Twitter that they can reserve the iPhone 4S through the Fido Reservation System starting October 7, but no additional details have been disclosed yet.
