Last week, Canadian wireless carrier Rogers announced that it had no plans on adding BlackBerry’s latest smartphone to its offering, namely the BlackBerry Z30, but the company has changed its mind.

Following a negative reaction from customers, the wireless services provider has decided to offer the 5-inch smartphone after all, though it remains to be seen when exactly that will happen.

As a recent post from The Canadian Press reads, users have accused Rogers of letting down a fellow Canadian company that is struggling to return to profitability.

"We have a longstanding partnership with BlackBerry and continue to be big supporters of the company and their products," Rogers spokeswoman Patricia Trott said.

Other carriers in the county have already unveiled plans to make the new mobile phone available for their customers, and many users threatened to cancel their Rogers contracts if the operator did not follow suit.

BlackBerry Z30 will become available for purchase in Canada starting with October 15 through carriers such as Bell and TELUS, as well as via retailers like Best Buy and Future Shop.

"Rogers has been and continues to be a great partner for BlackBerry," BlackBerry spokeswoman Rebecca Freiburger said. "We are very pleased that they will carry the BlackBerry Z30."

BlackBerry Z30 was announced with the new BlackBerry 10.2 OS loaded on top, and with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor inside.

Furthermore, it features 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot. On the back, the mobile phone packs an 8-megapixel camera with full HD video recording capabilities.

BlackBerry Z30 also features a front camera for making video calls, as well as the usual set of connectivity features. It was announced as the latest flagship smartphone from BlackBerry, and was accompanied by a price cut for the BlackBerry Z1, the previous flagship device from the company.
