Rogers has just announced that its Samsung Galaxy S II LTE will ship as early as next week to all customers who ordered one through the Rogers Reservations System.

The carrier has started earlier last month to take pre-orders for the Galaxy S II LTE using a special reservation system to make sure it has enough units to fulfill any demands.

However, the carrier stated that it has secured a very limited number of Samsung Galaxy S II LTE smartphones, which will be shipped today to “a handful of customers” that ordered their units via the Rogers Reservations System.

The rest of the customer who made their reservations during the pre-order period will have to wait until next week to receive their LTE-enabled Galaxy S II.

While we wish we could get this device to everyone who has reserved the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE on the reservations system today, we’re thrilled to be able to deliver on our first-to-market commitment by shipping Canada’s first LTE smartphones,” said Rogers Keith, Vice President of Social Media at Rogers.

According to Rogers, the carrier will continue to fulfill orders for the smartphone starting next week and expects be able to ship to Galaxy S II LTE units to everyone in the reservations system.

Samsung Galaxy S II LTE is not just the LTE version of the Galaxy S II, but an improve version of the original.

The Galaxy S II LTE has a slightly larger 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen (480 x 800 pixels resolution) and a more powerful dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 Snapdragon processor, complemented by an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit.

In addition, the Gingerbread smartphone is powered by a better 1850 mAh Li-Ion battery, in comparison with the original Galaxy S II's 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Samsung Galaxy S II LTE is expected to go live for $199.99 (145 EUR) with a new three-year agreement or $649.99 (467 EUR) outright.
