Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers Wireless already announced officially that it would be the exclusive distributor in the country for the high-end Android-based Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and, even if no exact release date for the handset's launch was unveiled, it seems that it might become available in a couple of weeks. According to the latest news on the matter, the Xperia X10 is set to land at Rogers on April 14, while having it priced at $199.99 on a 3-year contract.

The official release date for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the second quarter of the ongoing year, but it seems that there are great chances that the launch will happen on April 14. The price tag for this Android-based mobile phone is as appealing as it can be, especially considering that, even if it arrives on the market with the 1.6 version of Google's platform on board, the device will receive software upgrades in the future, as Sony Ericsson themselves already confirmed.

According to a recent post on mobilesyrup, Rogers Wireless already sent out teasers stating that the “The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is almost here – exclusively from Rogers,” which suggests that the launch date should be near enough. Moreover, the carrier is also set to soon kick off the pre-order period for this handset, and those who are interested in it will have the chance to secure one unit before it becomes available for purchase. The pre-registration page can be found on Roger's website here.

We should further mention that Rogers is not the single carrier in the world which announced the soon to come availability of Xperia X10. Other carriers already started to list the device on their websites, or announced that the phone would become available for purchase in the near future, and enthusiasts have now the possibility to enjoy all the features Sony Ericsson packed inside its first Android-based device.
