Shortly after Fido quietly added the Xperia M2 to its portfolio, Canadian carrier Rogers started selling the smartphone as well, and for the same price.

For those unaware of our previous article, Sony Xperia M2 is now available at Rogers for $300 (€200) outright, but it can also be had for free on 2-year agreements.

Although the smartphone ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, Sony confirmed last month that the Xperia M2 would receive an upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat sometime in July.

Obviously, Rogers’ version of Xperia M2 might get it slightly later, though the Canadian carrier usually pushes Sony’s updates quite fast.

Sony Xperia M2 is a mid-range smartphone. As such, it comes equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphic processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone packs around 8GB of storage, but users can expand internal memory up to 32GB via microSD card slot. It’s also worth mentioning that Xperia M2 sports a 4.8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and features scratch-resistant glass coating.

There’s also an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, as well as a high-capacity non-removable 2300 mAh battery that should provide around 600 hours of standby time.
