The carrier's LTE network covers more than 8 million people

Canadian carrier Rogers has just announced that its LTE network now covers more than eight million people. The carrier has reached the recently announced milestone thanks to the latest expansion of its LTE services to more cities that surround Toronto and Vancouver.

 

According to Rogers, LTE services are now available in Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham.

 

In addition, several cities surrounding Vancouver are now covered by Rogers’ LTE network such as West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Surrey and Maple Ridge.

 

Rogers is the first carrier that was able to launch a LTE network several months ago in Ottawa followed by Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The carrier plans to expand its LTE network to more than 30% of the population by year’s end.

 

Today more Rogers customers from the east and west can experience the future of fast as we continue to expand the gold standard wireless network technology, the Rogers LTE network to more Canadian cities surrounding Toronto and Vancouver,” said John Boynton, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Communications.

 

Furthermore, Rogers currently offers a wide range of 4G-enabled devices, including the new LTE Rocket mobile hotspot (Sierra Wireless AirCard 754S), which allows users to connect up to five laptops, gaming units, music players at LTE speeds.

 

There are also two LTE smartphones available from Rogers, such as the exclusive Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and the HTC Raider. Other LTE devices that can be purchased via Rogers include the HTC Jetstream LTE tablet and the Rogers LTE Rocket stick (Sierra Wireless AirCard 313U).
