Although Rogers BlackBerry Curve 9360 was slated for an August 26 release, it appears that the carrier had to postpone the launch of the smartphone for a few days.

However, Rogers customers will be happy to find that the carrier will retails the BlackBerry Curve 9360 for only $49.99 with a new three- year agreement ($45 per month plan minimum required).

It looks like Rogers is matching Bell's price on a three-year term, but offers better deals than other carriers on shorter term contracts.

According to an internal document, Rogers plans to offer the Curve 9360 for $99.99 with a new two-year contract or for $149.99 one a one-year term.

Customers who prefer to purchase the phone without committing to a Rogers contract will be required to pay $349.99 outright.

Only one day left until the end of the month and Curve 9360 should be made available to the rest of the world, as Research in Motion (RIM) promised.

Even though Curve 9360 is one of the new BlackBerry 7 OS series devices, its specs sheet is slightly lower when put against other BlackBerries launched at the beginning of the month.

In this regard, the Curve 9360 is equipped with an 800 MHz processor, whereas the Bold 9900, Torch 9810 and 9860 models embed 1.2GHz processor.

Furthermore, it packs 512 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

It appears that the handset will support both HSDPA and HSUPA, as well as NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities.

In addition, Curve 9360 sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording capabilities (VGA).

Rogers has yet to make any announcements regarding the phone's availability, but it should not take more than a few days until it hits shelves.
