Canadian mobile phone users can now purchase from Rogers a new device that should work on the company's recently announced HSPA+ network. The new Rogers HSPA+ Rocket Stick (also known as the ZTE MF 668) can be acquired by those who live in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and would like to benefit from the 21Mbps speeds the carrier can offer to them through the newly deployed network.
As many of you might already know,
the wireless carrier already announced that the upgraded network would soon reach more markets in the country, and those who would like to be prepared for that moment when the 21Mbps speeds will come to their area can also grab the new device from Rogers. Capable to deliver supposed speeds of up to 21Mbps when and where available, the Rocket Stick will provide users with the speeds supported by the network in their area.
The price tag for the Rogers HSPA+ Rocket Stick has been set at $74.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with
the carrier on a minimum data plan of $25 per month, yet users can also opt to purchase it free of contract, only that they will have to pay $199.99 for it. According to
intomobile, the device is expected to become available for purchase in various Rogers locations starting today, and those who already placed pre-orders for it should expect to receive it in the very near future.
The specification list of the stick shows 7.7 x 2.8 x 1.2 cm in size and a weight of 30 grams, along with connectivity options that include HSPA+/UMTS 850/1900/2100Mhz, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900Mhz frequencies, and Internet speeds of up to 21.6Mbps for download and up to 5.76Mbps uplink.
The device also comes with a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 8GB of removable storage space.
