After Nadal's Clay domination ended, it's time for the grass season to choose it's winner. And the first two major tournaments where that will be decided are Halle and Queens. And, since the closer to Wimbledon is Queens, let's focus on that for a little bit. The second round of the English competition saw Andy Roddick take on qualifier Frank Dancevic. And, after failing to stay more than 2 rounds in Australia or Roland Garros - the first two Grand Slam tournament of the season
- Andy roddick was clearly out of shape today.
And you could have seen it in the first set. Dancevici rallied through the american with a 6-2 performance, proving everybody that A-Rod is no longer a force in the ATP race. Still, it wasn't to be for the Canadian, since Roddicks bounced back and managed to level the score in the second. The decisive was just a walk in the park for the former number one player, since he succeeded in qualifying for the 3rd round with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win.
"I wasn't making a lot of returns early and he played great in the first set. He wasn't doing much wrong. He didn't have a lot to lose and he put a lot of pressure on me", said Roddick after the game. He will expect a pretty easy opponent in the next round - but then again, no one is a piece of cake for Andy any more - when he will meet either Paradorn Srichaphan, or Yen-Hsun Lu.
