Rod Stewart has made a rather unusual deposit: he freezed his sperm, to make sure that, as years go by, he will be able to have another child with fiance Penny Lancaster. She is pregnant at the moment with their first child, who will be Rod's sixth, and the birth is due in December.
The couple didn't follow the usual procedure in collecting the sperm, that is they didn't produce a sample on demand, but brought one previously prepared.
Penny Lancaster declared: "We didn't do it at hospital. We were at home, you know, intimately.
And then I rushed down in the Ferrari with my handbag and the little vile next to it."
Among many things that the rocker has done for his fiance and for his unborn baby is a serenade. He sang a Celtic song ('Fields of Athenry') for Penny's tummy when on British chat show GMTV.
Rod will also be helping his wife with the delivery, in case they don't make it to the hospital in time, as he has attended midwife classes. If everything goes according to plans, the birth is to take place under water. The rocker even joked about that: "I've got my G-string ready!".
