The newest article follows last week's one with tips on online races

Developer Rockstar Games is graciously offering gamers some tips on how to make "killer GTA Online deathmatches" using the Content Creator.

The newest installment in the tutorial series follows last week's article covering online races, when the developers announced that over 2.5 million custom jobs have been created via the content editor.

The community's interest has not waned, with many busy bees hard at work using Rockstar's tool and posting their creations on the Social Club.

The online deathmatch guide tells how players can customize their matches, having the power to alter every little detail, from player and weapon spawn locations to what radio station is playing in the pre-match lobby.

The Deathmatch Details Menu is where numerous parameters such as number of players in each time, the target number of kills, time limit and time of day will be set.

The devs point out that a balanced choice of weaponry is one of the key ingredients of a good deathmatch experience, and that various options have been implemented in the Creator, which can be used for restricting access to particular starting weapons or certain weapon pick-ups. It thus allows players to each bring their own loadout into the fray, or have pistols-only or knives-only types of deathmatches.

Placing triggers will set where players will need to go to start the Deathmatch from Free Mode, as well as assign a rough location of where the action is to take place, complete with a Lobby Camera picture that will serve as the pre-Job background.

Spawn points are the locations where players will re-appear when they die, and they too hold an important position when it comes to how fun the Deathmatch will turn out. The number of spawn points depends on the total number of players, and they can be altered at any time to reduce crowding or increase player density.

Team Start Points will set the gears in motion for when players opt to play your scenario as a Team Deathmatch, and it is generally a good idea to place team members close to each other and the two teams on opposite sides of the map, but experimentation and novelty are always good areas to toy with.

Once the basics are in place, it's time for some additional logistics work, namely populating the playing area with health, weapons and various other props that will spice up your online experience, such as vehicles and additional cover.

Tweaks to certain areas can be made along the way in order to provide more balance to the map or more exciting high risk/high reward scenarios, as the only surefire way to ascertain whether you made a good map or not is to test it out in real matches and see what needs changing.

When everything seems to be in place, the Test button allows you to play your Deathmatch scenario against AI-controlled bots, a mandatory step before submitting your new creation. Once that is done, hitting Publish will release the new Deathmatch into the wild, where everyone can download, play, share and rate your creation.

But the work is never done, as actively gathering feedback from friends and the larger Social Club community and implementing the required balance changes or trying out interesting ideas is the key to making a truly successful Job.

Better get working, because the Rockstar dev team is actively looking out for outstanding jobs to add to the Rockstar Verified lot.
