Might be real-life promotion or in-game satire of the companies

Video game publisher Take Two has filled trademarks for both GTA TV and Rockstar TV, which might mean that the company plans to launch an integrated promotional campaign for its new video game or that it plans to create a parody of itself inside the new title.

The trademarks are linked to :”computer game programs and software; animated motion picture films featuring entertainment, pre-recorded video discs and other pre-recorded digital and electronic media in the field of live action programs, motion pictures, or animation featuring entertainment, namely, action, adventure, dramatic, comedic, children’s and documentary themes.”

The developers at Rockstar have been known for the way they recreate actual cities in virtual form, taking liberties when it comes to companies, clubs, social venues and neighborhoods, which are often mercilessly but lovingly satirized.

Rockstar TV and GTA TV might simply be ways of creating content for the dedicated fan base, keeping them up to date with the development of the new Grand Theft Auto.

They might also be in-game television series or dedicated channels.

Grand Theft Auto V was confirmed as being in development during November 2011, when Rockstar and Take Two launched an official trailer for the game.

Since then the two companies have been mostly silent about their new game, although a number of rumors, some linked to inside sources, have appeared.

The game will take place in Los Santos and the Houser brothers have said that they plan to radically change the nature of the GTA experience.

The game space will be modeled on modern-day Southern California and will be the most ambitious video game project the Rockstar team has ever created, both in terms of gameplay mechanics and narrative.

The team has confirmed that it was making progress on the development of the game, but Take Two has not stated exactly when the video game might be launched.
