Two recent job postings on Gamasutra indicate that Rockstar is pursuing new and unannounced projects. One of these postings hints at an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii game, while the other hints at a Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable title. Rockstar North needs a physics programmer and a junior physics programmer for its team to design animation and collision systems.

The physics programmer “should possess excellent math skills, an eye for detail and a natural ability to communicate as part of a creative team,” according to the job description. The junior physics programmer, on the other hand, “should have a positive attitude, enjoy contributing to the creative process and be able to communicate with people as effectively as you do a computer.”

No official statements have been made as of yet, but speculations have been made about a new Grand Theft Auto game, Rockstar's biggest franchise. The developer is known to work only on one big project at the moment. Agent is a PlayStation 3 exclusive that should hit Sony's platform sometime this year. This game will be set during the Cold War in the 1970s and will involve, according to Rockstar, political assassinations, espionage and counter-intelligence.

Rockstar North's most recent launch is Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, a package that comprises two expansions for the original game, The Lost and The Damn and The Ballad of Gay Tony. The former tells the tale of Johnny Klebitz, a member of a biker gang, while the latter revolves around Fernando Lopez, the bodyguard of the mob boss Anthony “Gay Tony” Prince. While at first these episodes were Xbox 360 exclusives, as of now they are available for both the PlayStation 3 and PC as a stand-alone release.
