After being forced by the Hot Coffee scandal and ESRBs decision to modify GTA: San Andreas rating to take the game off the shelves, Take Two has decided to re-launch the GTA franchise.
So, the controversial company has announced not only a special GTA: San Andreas version for Play Station 2, which will be available on October 8, but also the Grand Theft Auto trilogy for Xbox.
GTA: San Andreas Special Edition will be launched together with the DVD containing a making-of-movie and the disc with Sunday Driver, the movie announced by Rockstar Game a few days ago.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy consists of the last three titles: GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas. Rockstar has regained the right to use the M+ rating for GTA San Andreas and has launched Xbox and PC versions, which no longer include the sex scenes.
Take Two hasnt announced yet the price for GTA: The Trilogy and for the Play Station 2 special edition. Next month, Rockstar is scheduled to launch the GTA version for PSP, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.
This product was also the subject of a scandal when Rockstar launched the games site. Jack Thompson, the lawyer who fights against game violence, said that an e-mail posted on the Internet contained insulting allusions to his name.
Judging by the number of launches scheduled to take place, one might say that Rockstar has successfully overcome the Hot Coffee scandal.
