Rockstar wants most players to target 60 FPS and 1080p

The fan community for Grand Theft Auto V has known the minimum and recommended requirements for the PC version of the game since the start of the year, but Rockstar says that the 4K quality it has been focusing on recently is much harder to achieve for most potential players.

Kevin Hoare, who is the leader of the Toronto team that has focused on the optimization process for the title, explains to PC Gamer that his company is mostly interested in making the experience solid for those aiming for 1080p resolution and 60 FPS.

GTA V will run very well for those who have Nvidia GTX 660 with 2GB of RAM or an AMD HD7870 using 2GB of memory.

Hoare adds that 4K resolution at 30 FPS will only be achieved, at a minimum, with an AMD HD 7870 or Nvidia GTX 760 with 2 GB of RAM.

Finally, those who want to push GTA V to 4K and 60 frames per second will need to take two top graphics cards and link them using an SLI or Crossfire setup.

The developer adds, "One of the lessons we have learned over the years through Grand Theft Auto IV and Max Payne 3 on PC was that people want the freedom to configure their system to suit their preferences."

PC gamers will get the ultimate version of GTA V

Rockstar has recently said that it has tried to make sure that the upcoming version of its open world experience offers the ultimate experience when it comes to both graphics and gameplay.

This means that there are improved textures and a higher density of pedestrians and cars, and that players will also be able to explore more content on the radio.

The development team is also promising that all the updates planned for GTA V or its Online component will be offered at the same time on home consoles and the PC.

GTA V pre-loads are open for those who have pre-ordered the game.

Rockstar is saying that the PC launch does not make the end of the road for the game and that this year it plans to launch a range of new tools and content, all of it focused on the Online experience.

Rumors are also suggesting a single-player expansion will be revealed.
