It's unclear how many gamers will be affected by the changes

The development team at Rockstar working on the Online mode for Grand Theft Auto V announces that it is currently working hard to close down all the exploits in the game that allow players to get access to extra Reputation Points.

At the same time, all gamers who have obtained RP before using illegal means will see a portion of them deducted from their total.

The team explains in an official post that, "Your RP will only be adjusted if you participated in mods, hacks, DNS redirects, manipulation of cloud files, or other similarly nefarious behavior. If you grinded short legitimate missions or otherwise gained a small amount of RP without modding, your RP should not be affected by this correction."

The company does not say how many players will be affected by this change or whether they will have a way to appeal if they believe they have been unfairly targeted by the anti-cheating measures.

No timeline has been offered for the tweaks made to RP.

Rockstar has also announced a number of changes that will be made to GTA Online during the spring, including the introduction of Heist missions for all interested players and the addition of more content with a new High Life pack.
