Rockstar Games has revealed a brand new statement concerning the PC edition of Grand Theft Auto 5, explaining just why that version of the title has been delayed until January of 2015, while PS4 and Xbox One users will be able to experience the game in November of this year.

GTA 5 came out almost one year ago for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms, bringing forth a stellar open world game that had huge and varied environments, a pretty impressive story, and a GTA Online multiplayer mode that allowed players to do all sorts of crazy things.

However, while Rockstar was rolling out different free updates for GTA Online, it was also working hard on adapting the whole GTA 5 experience onto new and more powerful platforms like PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

This summer, at E3 2014, the studio finally revealed them and mentioned that all three new versions were going to debut this fall, declining to offer an actual release date.

PC owners were upset with the new delay

Grand Theft Auto 5 received an actual release date last week for the PS4 and Xbox One platforms, of November 18, while the PC version has been pushed back to January 27, 2015.

While in the actual announcement Rockstar explained that, after a careful analysis, the PC edition needed more development time, plenty of PC owners were quite upset with the delay, especially since no other details were offered.

Now, the studio has posted a new statement on its website's comments section, thanking fans for their excitement and explaining just why the PC edition needs some more time for polishing ahead of its release.

"We're glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon. We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible."

The studio also promises to reveal more details about GTA 5's release across all of its new platforms, so fans should look forward to seeing more info soon enough.

"Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead."
