Haven't heard of Rockit!? Then you should. The company has released a new series of MP3 and MP4 handheld media players. They're said to be available through ACME Sports and Entertainment.

According to MobileWhack, the new line of players from Rockit! branded PMPs is expected to hit North America this summer.

What really surprised me is the design of these players, which looks exactly like the Apple's iPods, but come in better color range. I couldn't understand why some manufacturers cannot come up with their own design versions. However, this might actually be another cloning act in the electronics industry, which confirms once again Apple's "supremacy" on the market industry.

Anyway, the Rockit! Mp4 player comes available in 1GB (250 songs), 2Gb (500 songs) or 4GB (1000 songs) storage capacities, it is capable of dealing with video ad music playback, as well as displaying images and adds some more entertainment content on it; the manufacturers completed the player with an integrated FM receiver on board. On the outside, the player reveals a decent sized screen of 1.8". It's rechargable via USB cable or wall charger.

The price tag of the MP4 player varies according to its storage capacity: US $49.95 (1GB), $69.95 (2GB) and $89.95 (4GB).

As for the Rockit! Mini player-Shuffle pour 'les connoisseurs', it features a sleek and tiny design. It is capable of dealing with all sorts of file formats available, such as: of MP3/WAV/WMA, but it comes in only two storage capacities of 2GB and 4GB. On the outside, it measures 11/4" x 1 5/8" x 1/2", comes with a pair of decent, aka not impressive headphones, and it's powered just like its older brother - via USB cable or wall charger.

As for the pricing details, the 2GB Mini is priced at US $49.95 and the 4GB one at $79.95. Amazing, even the prices are the same as Apple's. Still uninterested?
