RunCore has introduced a consumer-grade SSD upgrade kit for ultrabooks and Apple’s MacBook Air. It’s called the Rocket Air SSD.

The kit boasts internal MLC flash and consumer-grade operating temperature, and targets ultra-thin laptops like the MacBook Air, RunCore said.

Rocket Air SSDs are almost half the size of conventional 2.5” SSDs without an enclosure and offer nearly four times the capacity of the original factory SSDs shipped by Apple, according to the manufacturer.

“With the SATA III interface and Tier 1 Toggle Synchronous NAND, the RunCore Rocket Air SSD offers data transfer rates of over 500MB/s to cater to the requirements of enthusiasts and users who seek for higher storage capacity and greater performance,” according to RunCore.
