The well-known notebook manufacturer Rock has just launched two new models especially developed for the gaming segment – the Quaddra TX2 and the Pegasus 660, according to Trusted Reviews.

Rock’s latest notebooks are said to sport, as they are meant for fanatic gamers, Nvidia’s GeForce Go 7600 graphics solution, delivering, according to the company, enhanced gaming features. Furthermore, Quaddra and Pegasus also include support for High Dynamic-Range Lighting (HDR), Microsoft DirectX 9 and Shader Model 3.0.

Enough
with the general features! Let’s see what these notebooks are offering one at a time.

The first notebook - the 17 inch Quaddra TX2 – is not so light, as it weighs is 3,5 kg, but, thank God, it is thin – 3,5 cm… I think you can still carry it around, even if you’ll suffer some back pain. Believe me… I know.

As the new Quaddra TX2 is an improvement brought to the previous Quaddra T65, it also comes with some quite impressive features such as Nvidia’s GeForce Go 7600 graphics card, AMD’s latest Turion 64 X2 dual core processor, and a WSXGA+ resolution of 1680x1050-pixels displayed on a X-Glass screen.

This is why the manufacturer guarantees for its solution as being ideal for creative professionals and also gamers. Furthermore, as most of the recent released notebooks, this one also includes, in the standard package, Bluetooth and wireless capabilities.

The Pegasus 660 is also an enhancement brought to the previous Pegasus 650, and is said to be the lightest in its class, weighing 3,1 kg. Unlike the Quadrra, this notebook includes a 15.4-inch widescreen, the system is powered by Intel’s Centrino Core Duo Mobile Technology, and the graphics, well… the same Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics card with 256MB video memory.

Pegasus also delivers a special feature – the silent mode – which can be activated if you press a single button, the cores being slowed down to a 1GHz for ‘super calmed down’ fanless working.

Both notebooks – Quaddra TX2 and Pegasus 660 – can be purchased at an approximately affordable price - £899 (ex. VAT).
