Get all the golden and silver instruments

Rock Band is a music video game developed by Harmonix Music Systems, published by MTV Games, and distributed by Electronic Arts Partners. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions were released in the United States of America (US) on November 20, 2007, while the PlayStation 2 version was released in the US on December 18, 2007. The game was released in Canada on December 27, 2007 on Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 and on Playstation 2 on January 2, 2008. It will be released in Europe in early 2008.

Rock Band allows players to perform in virtual "bands" by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different instrument-based peripherals (a guitar peripheral for guitar and bass guitar sequences, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). These instruments are used to simulate the playing of rock music by hitting scrolling notes on-screen. Players using the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles can interact through both online and offline multiplayer capabilities.

In addition to the songs shipping on the game disc, potentially hundreds of new tracks will be made available as downloadable content. (Wikipedia)

Unlockables

Clear Instruments
In order to get a clear see through instrument, you must play through Band World Tour and have a PR firm as well as a set of body guards. Afterward, you'll be invited to play at Moscow's Hall of Fame concert. Finish the 8 set song list and you'll unlock clear instruments for your band.

Clear Bass - Finish Hall of Fame concert in Moscow

Clear Drum Set - Finish Hall of Fame concert in Moscow

Clear Guitar - Finish Hall of Fame concert in Moscow

Clear Microphone - Finish Hall of Fame concert in Moscow

Golden Instruments
In order to unlock any golden instruments you must go through solo on any difficulty and perform with either a Guitar, Bass, Microphone or Drum set. Which ever mode you complete with the corresponding instrument, you will get a golden instrument of that item.

Golden Bass - Beat solo mode on any difficulty

Golden Drum Set - Beat solo mode on any difficulty

Golden Guitar - Beat solo mode on any difficulty

Golden Microphone - Beat solo mode on any difficulty

Silver instruments
To unlock the silver version of an instrument, complete the bonus tour for that instrument on any difficulty. (not sure about bass)

silver bass - beat bonus tour on bass, if this is possible

silver drum kit - beat bonus tour on drums

silver microphone - beat bonus tour on microphone

silver Stratocaster - beat bonus tour on guitar
