Does this mean we'll get a PC version? Probably not, but it's still cool!

Microsoft has started a campaign called Xbox 360, presenting Rock Band Live, which will eventually reward some lucky fans in the UK, Germany and France (a total of eleven people) with a week at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. But, since many Rock Band fans do not live in the mentioned countries and Microsoft doesn't like to let people behind when it comes to its game, it has created something awesome, something everybody can experience, enjoy and use for free. This is a rarity for the giant.

What has it done? Well, it has released a Facebook application called myRockBand which supports its campaign but, even more, brings us one extra cutesy little way of enjoying our virtual rock star lives. We will be able, after downloading the application, to create its ultimate band by choosing the name, position and, from the friends list, band mates.

But that won't be the end of things: interaction is possible and action-screams such as "you rock"', "fling your knickers", "show them rock horns" and "crowd surf!" will be possible, while the critics (or the haterz, as we call them) will have the option to say stuff like "boo the band" or "put your fingers in your ears".

Wannabes can audition to join the band, challenging any band member for his position. This will be done via a flash game that sets off a sequence of notes that have to be memorized and replicated by the player. If they manage to break the score record of the original band member, they will take that person's place. It's a piece of cake. Also, there is a lot of "social network" stuff.

"Want to immortalize your rocker moment? Then join myRockBand on Facebook to share in our real-world Xbox 360 Presents Rock Band Live events and loads of music stuff! It's your Rock Band destination to share, explore and invite your girlfriend or mates - it's just like the video game but even better," explains Stephen McGill, Head of Gaming & Entertainment, Entertainment & Devices Division.
