In December 2013, rock band Heart announced that, after watching documentary film “Blackfish,” it had decided to cancel its performance at Sea World's Bands, Brew and BBQ festival.

Just in case anyone assumed that canceling this appearance was all the musicians were ready and willing to do to prove that they do care about orcas and other marine creatures held in captivity, here is proof that this is not the case.

Thus, Ecorazzi tells us that Heart is now scheduled to perform at an upcoming Earth Day event, and that the musicians plan to use this occasion to raise money for orca charities.

“Seattle mark your calendar! Ann&Nancy will be performing on #EarthDay 4/22/14 @EMPmuseum to raise money 4 Orca relief More info coming soon!” the band told its Twitter followers.

The organizations that are to receive the funds that the band manages to raise at this event are as follows: The Center for Whale Research, OrcaLab, and the International Marine Mammal Project of Earth Island Institute, through Orca Conservancy’s Orca Trust Fund.
