Video game developer Harmonix has not yet offered an official launch date for its coming Rock Band 4, which is only linked to a fall of 2015 date at the moment, but it seems that fans of the music-based title will be able to get access to it on all platforms on October 6.

The date is being revealed by a listing on retailer Amazon, as seen in the image attached to this article.

It's unclear whether Harmonix plans to make an official announcement about Rock Band 4 soon, maybe at the coming E3 2015 press conferences held by Microsoft and Sony, or whether the retailers have simply shown details that they should have kept secret for a longer period.

The development team is also working on a new version of the game, called the Band-in-a-Box, which is designed to give players access to a copy of the music title, a drum kit, the guitar controller, and one microphone.

Those who get Rock Band 4 from Amazon will also get access to four extra tracks that will probably be offered to the entire player community after a while.

Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players can get access to the Band-in-a-Box, and those interested will have to pay 250 dollars (230 Euro) for it.

This version of the game is clearly designed to appeal to those who do not have their old instruments or are entirely new to the Rock Band series.

The new Harmonix title will have to compete with Guitar Hero Live from Activision

The fall season of 2015 is shaping up to be a very busy one, and Rock Band 4 will need to deliver a high-quality experience in order to compete with big titles like Halo 5 or a new Forza title.

At the same time, the music genre is due for a full revival, with Activision also working on Guitar Hero Live, which should be out before the end of the year.

Harmonix has said that for Rock Band 4, it is focusing on the history of the franchise, which means gamers will be able to use their older instruments to play the new songs and can also import tracks that they have previously bought.

The title will offer more room for gamers to express themselves and enhanced simulation mechanics.
