Harmonix and MTV Games are announcing the latest downloadable tracks set to become available for Rock Band 2, the latest music simulation from the two companies. The new songs are a three pack from alternative rocker Jimmy Eat World and a compilation of what are called “alternative country” tracks from various artists.

The five pack is called “Alt Country 01,” and is made up of songs that range from bluegrass to rockabilly, to honky tonk rock. The songs that interested players can get are: “People Got A Lotta Nerve,” which is taken from the upcoming Middle Cyclone album by Neko Case, that will arrive on March 3, “Can’t Let Go” from Lucinda Williams, who is a Grammy winner, “Satellite Radio” by Steve Earl; “Three Dimes Down” by Drive-By Truckers from the Brighter Than Creation’s Dark and Old 97 playing “Timebomb” live. All the songs are master tracks and the whole pack will cost 8.49 dollars, which means 680 Microsoft Points.

The Jimmy Eat World pack is made up of: “Lucky Denver Mint” taken from Clarity, an album released ten years ago, “Futures” from the album with the same name launched in 2004, and “Sweetness” which was featured on Bleed American. The whole pack will cost players 5.49 dollars

Both “Alt Country Pack 01” and “Jimmy Eat World Pack 01” are going to be available on February 24 on the Xbox Live Marketplace, while those playing Rock Band 2 on the PlayStation 3 will be able to get them from the PlayStation Store on February 26. Those who only want some tracks from the two packs should be ready to pay up 1.99 dollars for each.

Harmonix and MTV Games are really working hard to make sure that the track library for Rock Band 2 is big enough to attract a wide variety of gamers towards downloadable songs.
