Classical rock legends Kiss, Queen, Def Leppard and Judas Priest are being brought back to light by VH1. The annual "Hip-Hop Honors" is already at its third edition this year, so VH1 decided there should also be a "Rock Honors". The 2006 record will include the aforementioned bands.
The taping of the show will take place on May 25th at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay. Soon enough, by the end of April, the tickets will go on sale. VH1 promises a five-star show, which will include besides the sacred monsters already mentioned, some other big names from the world of rock.
The ones unable to purchase tickets to the show live, will have the chance to watch their idols on VH1, on a six days broadcast after the event at Mandalay Bay.
We all have reasons to be very curious about this. How will Queen do without Freddie Mercury? How will Paul Rodgers substitute the image of the 90s' idol? How will Paul Stanley, Kiss vocalist, be able to play after the hip replacement surgery?
As for Def Leppard and Judas Priest, they are both working, either preparing tours, or getting ready new studio albums.
All in all, the VH1 initiative is a salutary one and the chance of seeing the four names together on stage is something that's worth it!
