Named CLASH for some reason, possibly because of how it wriggles into things

Robots might not really be at a stage where they can substitute for human labor in anything outside of automation, but one can't really resist looking fondly at certain things, like the CLASH roach.

The word roach doesn't usually carry any sort of positive emotional charge, but the CLASH isn't likely to draw any ire.

In fact, being an amusing, 10-centimeter robo-bug (3.93 inches), it already caused people to gush about how adorable it is.

UC Berkley's CLASH is a sort of successor to the DASH, which could only walk on flat surfaces.

Its main asset is that, with those six legs that have small claws to grab onto things, it can crawl vertically, albeit only on cloth.

About 34 strides per second is the maximum speed, not monumental but not bad for such a small critter either. Be sure to watch the video of the thing in action.
