John Martinson has announced recently the immediate availability for download and testing of the third maintenance release of its Robolinux 7.8 Linux distribution, which now features new powerful security and privacy applications designed with a single goal in mind, to keep users safe at all times, online and offline.

Robolinux 7.8.3 comes with TOR Browser Bundle for anonymous Internet surfing, TorChat for those who want to have real private conversations, a new in-house application called "Stealth Text Vault" that lets users hide text in JPG images, the powerful BleachBit data cleaner utility, as well as PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) email encryption support for the Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client.

“Unfortunately privacy and security on the internet are turning into a complete nightmare, so Robolinux has taken serious action,” says John Martinson. “All eight of these new versions are a direct result of our users asking for more privacy and security apps after we released v7.8.2 on February 22nd, 2015 which had JonDo Anonymous Encrypted Browsing, Keepass2 for encrypting all passwords, UFW IPV6 Firewall and ClamTk anti virus protection in it.”

Many of the pre-installed applications have been updated to their latest version

In addition to the above-mentioned privacy and security applications, Robolinux 7.8.3 also updates some of the pre-installed apps. For example, the Mozilla Firefox web browser has been updated to version 36.0.1, Mozilla Thunderbird has been updated to version 31.5.0, and Oracle VirtualBox has been updated to version 4.3.24. The Linux kernel has also been updated in this new point release of Robolinux 7.8.

As usual, you can download Robolinux 7.8.3 GNOME, KDE, Xfce, and LXDE editions right now from Softpedia. Each of them is distributed as Live CDs or DVDs for both 32- and 64-bit computer platforms. Please keep in mind that if you are using Robolinux 7.8.2, you can simply update to version 7.8.3 by using the "Auto Upgrade Robolinux Version" option from the "System" menu in KDE, LXDE, and Xfce editions, and “System Tools” menu in the GNOME edition.
