Robolinux 7.5.2, a fast and easy to use Linux distribution based on Debian, has been released and brings quite a few changes and improvements.

Robolinux is using a piece of technology called Stealth VM Software, which allows users to create a clone of a Windows Operating System with all the installed programs and updates. This is the core of this operating system and the developers are aiming straight at the Windows user.

This Linux distribution has been around for a few editions and users have started to test it. To make things even simpler, the Stealth VM Software is available separately for a number of other distributions.

“Since Robolinux invented ‘Revolutionary Stealth VM’ inside our Debian Operating System we decided to create specific versions that work on all Linux Operating Systems so now anyone can run Windows XP or 7 inside Linux Mint or Ubuntu virus Free!”

“In a few clicks the Windows XP or 7 virtual machine is instantly built & fully configured and ready to go. Then you simply load your Windows disk and programs Now you can run Windows XP & 7 Virus Free inside all Linux Operating Systems with The Robolinux Stealth VM Sofware,” said the developer in the announcement.

According to the changelog, Firefox 29 has been added to Robolinux mostly because users didn't particularly like the Iceweasel replacement (Thunderbird is now also installed by default), the Debian base has been updated to the most current Debian 7.5 upstream released with all the security updates and improvements, and VirtualBox has been updated to version 4.3.12.

Also, the Robolinux Additional Proprietary AMD ATI Driver has been updated to the newest version, and the Professional Tech Support Staff has been increased to continue providing highly-responsive support for the C Drive to VM Support Package.

One of the reasons the developer of Robolinux chose this solution is that Microsoft decided to stop the support for Windows XP, which meant that users relying on applications running on that system could no longer use them safely.

Wine is not considered an appropriate solution by the Robolinux devs, so a new piece of software has been integrated to help Windows users migrate more easily to a Linux system. Whether this is a successful Linux distro or not remains to be seen.

More details about the Stealth VM Software and Robolinux 7.5.2 can be found in the official changelog. Also, you can download Robolinux 7.5.2 right now from Softpedia.
