Robolinux, a fast and easy to use Linux distribution based on Debian, has just received a new update, which is said to be the most important ever made available for this OS.

Robolinux is trying a different approach as a Linux distribution and the developers have implemented a piece of software called Robolinux Stealth VM Software, which allows users to create a clone of a Windows Operating System with all your installed programs and updates. This is the core of this operating system and the developers are aiming straight at the Windows user.

The developer of Robolinux has a tendency to exaggerate a bit, so the announcement for Robolinux 7.5.1 might seem a little bit much. The idea he is using in this distro is promising, but it's still a long way from what he's offering.

“THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT Robolinux update in the history of Robolinux as it will significantly increase the World's number of successful Windows XP & 7 migrations to Linux which will greatly impact all 500 Debian & RPM Operating Systems available today.”

“The new Robolinux C: Drive to VM Support package includes everything the User needs to successfully move their existing Windows XP or 7 C: drive quickly into a highly flexible .vdi file and also includes eMail Support. This will benefit tens of millions of Windows XP & 7 Users who have non VM installable OEM restore disks. Robolinux is also aimed at current Linux users who have to dual boot to another Windows system in order to use a specific application or who are forced to use Wine as a compromise,” said the developer in the announcement.

Besides these Earth-shattering improvements, a number of other smaller change have been made. For example, the Debian system that is used for this OS has been updated (he didn't say to which version or date), Mozilla Thunderbird 24 has been added, Record My Desktop has been removed and replaced with Kazam Screen Caster, and much more.

The developer of Robolinux has released the Stealth VM Software as a separate package for Ubuntu and Linux Mint systems. So, if you are one of the Windows users who seek refuge in Linux, you might want to give Robolinux 7.5.1 a try and leave a comment to see how it all went down.

More details about the Stealth VM Software and Robolinux 7.5.1 can be found in the official changelog. Also, you can download Robolinux 7.5.1 right now from Softpedia.
