Last month there were some rumors circulating around the Internet regarding a possible homage for the late Robin Williams in Blizzard Entertainment's massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft.

Following a fan petition requesting some form of recognition for the talented actor's work, the developers assured the community that something would be done, and now it seems that we have the official confirmation of their efforts.

A tribute to the late Robin Williams will be present in the upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion, in the form of an island that features an ever-burning interactive lamp that summons a genie who recites some of the lines that the actor used in "Aladdin."

Data miners previously found models and lines that might eventually end up as further homage to the actor, including a new title, "Comedian," and a large broken egg that could be a "Mork & Mindy" reference.

Now, the reveal comes in the form of some screenshots from the ongoing Warlords of Draenor beta test, showing the lamp and the genie in action. Wowhead user Haldhur stumbled across a mysterious artifact on a small island near Talador, one of the expansions' new areas.

The new item is titled "The Ever-Burning Lamp," and whenever a player interacts with it, the genie pictured in the gallery below appears, reciting the lines "infinite cosmic power!" and "itty bitty living space," two of the most recognizable lines from Robin Williams' performance in the role of the genie in Disney's animated film "Aladdin."

There are several other items nearby that could potentially be nods to other roles that the star played over the years, and there are two more characters in the expansion's database that might end up as further tribute to the beloved actor, but they have not yet been located in-game.

Williams was an avid gamer, even naming his daughter Zelda, inspired by Nintendo's long-standing franchise, and he was also a World of Warcraft player. Warlords of Draenor will be launched on November 13, and players all around the world will be able to visit the late actor's island.

The expansion will celebrate the role-playing game's 10th anniversary, and will introduce a ton of changes to the game's core mechanics, attempting to streamline many of the systems and to provide players with more straightforward means of achieving gear and raiding progression, as well as improved and more diverse player vs. player interactions.
