As Robin Williams has been laid to rest in a private ceremony yesterday, there are still a lot of theories as to how and why he decided to end his life so abruptly. New pieces to the puzzle are being added every day, but that doesn't mean that they are all the right ones in solving the reason for this tragic suicide.

So far, the most viable story is the one coming from Williams' wife who made the startling announcement that the actor had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, a neurological disorder but that it was still in the early stages.

Several of his friends have theorized that it was the cocktail of medication he was taking at the time that drove his to suicide. Now, a close friend of the actor has come forward and told TMZ that he believes Robin's suicide was not premeditated as it was believed.

His reasons for believing that are connected with the fact that Robin had made several plans for the following months, all of them related to new movie projects. The friend reveals that he and the actor had a lengthy discussion about said plans and Robin was “completely engaged in the conversation.”

He also goes on to say that “"He [Robin] was unhappy which he often was, but it was nothing unusual.” It's known that Williams had suffered from depression for years and it was one of the reasons why he became addicted to cocaine and alcohol in the first place.

This idea that the suicide was not premeditated is also supported by the fact that even his family and his close personal assistant had no idea that Robin was thinking about ending his life, which is why everyone was taken by surprise.

Based on insider reports, it's believed that Robin's decision to take his own life came to him at the moment, acting on an impulse when he decided to cut his wrist and then hang himself on his bedroom door using his belt.

Several celebrities, including Robin's longtime friend Rob Schneider, have pointed a blaming finger at the pharmaceutical companies making the drugs used to combat Parkinson's disease. Schneider blasted the industry for making medication that has awful side effects, including that of making people want to commit suicide.

At the moment, it has not been revealed what types of medication Robin was on at the time of his death, but a full investigation will determine if they had indeed played a role in Robin's decision to take his life.
