Because the singer has decided to move on with his life, and he's already made a good friend – actress Katie Holmes.
Both of them are divorced, since Katie has finished her relationship with famous actor Tom Cruise, and both of them are looking for happiness in a new relationship. A report from the Inquisitr claims that Katie and Robin are getting very friendly these days.
The two met on the set of the action film “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” where, ironically, they came in to support their respective partners, Tom Cruise and Paula Patton. They struck up a friendship that has now blossomed into something more, since they're both available.
An insider reveals that “She dropped him an email recently to see how he was, knowing he was going through divorce hell. And he was so happy to hear from her.” This was only the beginning, as they say, as now the couple are looking to meet face to face again.
“They’ve arranged a date in New York after his tour ends this month. Everyone’s encouraging this as they have so much in common and if anyone can get him over Paula, it’s Katie,” adds the inside source.
It's believed that the two have much in common and are looking for sympathy in the other person, since both of them have been pretty much through the same hurtful experience of divorce. This was the thing that triggered their relationship.
“Robin totally leaned on Katie. As she was in the same boat with Suri, who was four at the time. She was invaluable with her advice on looking after a new baby. They bonded over tips and music after he heard her sing to Suri,” we find out.
This would explain why Katie Holmes has all of a sudden decided to leave New York and move to Los Angeles, probably to be closer to Robin Thicke.
What is more interesting is the fact that there were rumors earlier this year that Tom Cruise and Paula Patton, the two exes, were involved in an affair of their own during the filming of the movie, but they decided to tone it down since both of them were still married at the time.
