“We’re talking now a matter of weeks, not months,” Roberts says

In June last year, in what was one of the most emotional moments on GMA of recent years, ABC anchorwoman Robin Roberts announced she’d been diagnosed with MDS.

As we also reported at the time, myelodysplastic syndrome is a blood and marrow condition that she developed after she received chemotherapy for breast cancer in 2007, and which saw her undergo extensive treatment.

Roberts has been off GMA and getting treatment since August but, as she says in the video below, she’s almost ready to get back into the saddle again.

She will return to Good Morning America in a “matter of weeks, not months,” but not before her doctors make sure her body is ready to handle that kind of stress.

Check out the video below to hear Roberts explain the entire process that’s meant to see her back on GMA.
