Towards the end of June, US President Barack Obama gave a speech and detailed his plan to combat climate change and global warming.

Actor Robert Redford couldn't agree more with what the US president had to say about these issues, hence his deciding to write a blogpost and praise Barack Obama's commitment to protect future generations by safeguarding the environment.

“Without question, we’re facing a climate crisis. (…) The need to keep moving forward with climate action on all fronts is imperative,” the actor explains.

“In his speech last week, he [President Obama] agreed to take some essential steps in saving our planet, most notably cutting carbon pollution from power plants. This is the right thing for our country.”

“This is the way that America shows its leadership. And in taking these important steps toward a national plan for climate action, the President is showing his leadership,” the actor goes on to say.

As reported, President Obama wants the US to fight back said phenomena not just by forcing power plants to green up their working agenda, but also by promoting energy efficiency, investing in renewables and convincing other nations to do the same.
