It looks like fans of actor Robert Pattinson and especially those of director David Cronenber's work won't have to wait that long to see “Cosmopolis.” The film has just been picked up for US distribution.

Audiences here will get to see the film this summer, starting August 17th, shortly after it's made its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was welcomed warmly by critics.

“eOne picked up Cosmopolis prior to Cannes, and is rolling it out in other countries now, with a Canadian opening tomorrow and UK bow a week later,” SlashFilm reports.

Based on the novel of the same name by Don DeLillo, “Cosmopolis” stars Pattinson of the “Twilight” fame, but also Sarah Gadon, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche and Paul Giamatti, and it promises to be a decadent story of money, power and love.

At least, that's what the critics are saying. Fans will get to see if they were right this August.
