It’s over for “Twilight” co-stars and sweethearts Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. After spending lots of time separated, the two have drifted apart and, while there’s no official breakup just yet, they are pretty much “on a break,” a new report suggests.
The Mirror claims to have it on very good authority that
the romance between the two, who have long denied being a couple in the first place, has simply cooled off.
There was no dramatic breakup and no actual fight to make them take this decision; they simply grew apart because of their schedules and spending so little time together.
Though they’re still shooting for “Breaking Dawn Part 1” now, it’s clear that some of the passion has gone out of them, but they remain close friends, says the report in the aforementioned British tab.
“Apparently all the life’s been sucked out of the Twilight stars’ relationship, and they’ve been on the rocks since February at least,” The Mirror writes.
At the same time, the fact that Pattinson is about to embark on a heavy promo tour for “Water for Elephants,” a film in which he stars opposite Reese Witherspoon, is not helping things in any way, because it means the two will be spending even more time apart.
“Things have been a bit rocky for a while. They both have hectic work schedules, Rob in particular at the moment, and their phone calls were getting fewer and further between. They started to only see each other on set and began to drift apart until a general apathy developed,” says an unnamed but reportedly reliable source.
It was Pattinson who decided to call things off before they got any worse, says the spy.
“The excuses why they couldn’t meet up basically got weaker and weaker, and Rob figured they should officially cool things off and have some time to figure out what they each want,” the tipster explains.
“There have been
a few tears but the pair remain friendly. Kristen is hopeful of a reconciliation once Rob has finished promotion for his latest movie. But as things stand, they’re on a break and just mates,” says the source.
