Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were supposed to have an embarrassing reunion at this year's Cannes Festival, because both of them would be attending, and the press speculated that they would be awkwardly trying to avoid each other.

However, recent reports indicate that the two “Twilight” actors aren't trying to avoid each other at all, quite the opposite. Robert has apparently already rented a villa where the two of them could hang out together far from the prying eyes of the media.

A report by Celebrity Dirty Laundry claims that Rob “has rented a villa in Cannes” where he's “planning on entertaining Kristen and possibly several other guests.” This information comes via an insider, who also adds that “Kristen and Rob are still planning on having their reunion at the villa, and Kristen has also accepted that their relationship won’t progress any further.”

As it turns out, Kristen, whom we all remember is responsible for breaking up the couple with her affair, has “finally given up on the idea of she and Rob getting back together for good, so she’s amenable to the idea of a hookup without any strings attached.”

This “no strings attached” theory isn't something new, we've heard it before speculated by insiders, and it really could prove to be true. This does not, however, explain why Robert was going out of his way to avoid Kristen the last time, at this year's Coachella Festival, where they used to go together when they were still a couple.

Since their breakup, both Kristen and Robert have been focusing on their work. For Robert, things seem to have turned out good, and he's now claiming that he's been finally able to get over the “Twilight” hype.

“I think I have more confidence in myself and these Cannes selections are helping a lot. After being dissed for years because of Twilight, my ego was a little bruised,” the British actor confesses. He also says that he's a big fan of small-budget movies these days because he feels like he's creating something, as opposed to big-budget films, where he claim to feel like just another wheel in the system.

For this year's Cannes Festival, Robert has two movies debuting “The Rover” and “Maps to the Stars,” while Kristen Stewart is premiering “Clouds of Sils Maria.” The press is going to keep a keen eye on these two in order to see if the reunion rumors are true.
