What both these characters have in common is Harrison Ford, hence the mixup

A little over a week ago, word got out that, despite his vows to never again do big movie franchises after “Twilight,” Robert Pattinson was actually tempted to consider taking over from Harrison Ford in a planned “Indiana Jones” reboot.

As it turns out, he is being considered as a replacement for Harrison Ford in an iconic role, but it’s not for “Indiana Jones” but for a “Star Wars”-related pic. Go figure.

“Everyone has been talking about the possibility that Rob will be the new Indiana Jones, but that is not going to happen. What has been talked about is a standalone Han Solo film, younger Han Solo before everything that happened in Star Wars and the person who is on the high list to get the part is Robert Pattinson,” an insider tells Hollywood Life.

Now, before you get ahead of yourself either with joy or with negative feelings, consider this: chances of this happening right now are slim to none. “Star Wars” is now Disney property and, as far as we know, there’s only “Episode VII” in the works as of this moment, so that means: no plans for a Han Solo film.

Making “Episode VII” in a way that will both attract new fans and please the old ones is a challenge, so it could be that Disney would not set the wheels in motion just yet for spinoffs, at least not until it has proven it can deliver on the “Star Wars” experience.

There’s also the question of whether Robert would ever want to get into big franchises again: in the past, he’s been very vocal about his mixed feelings on being the object of adoration of millions of fans. Would he want to go through that all over again, with a franchise that has an even bigger fanbase? I don’t think so.
