Those living in New York or in the area who also happen to be Robert Pattinson fans have now the amazing chance of seeing up close the closest thing to the star himself: his wax statue for Madame Tussauds. The statue has been completed and unveiled to the general public, AceShowbiz informs. One can easily imagine the ensuing madness.

According to Rosemary Delprado, marketing director at NY Tussauds, great care has been invested into making Pattinson the statue as similar as possible to Pattinson the real person. In order to make sure that the artists created his bedroom ‘do down to the last hair, they took a few extra weeks than normal. They also used the real deal for the hair, also to see that the statue was as close to real life as possible.

“Rosemary explained that the wax is made taller than the real actor. The process to create wax normally takes place between three to six months but with Robert’s the artists took extra weeks so that they could pluck in the hair one by one. Rosemary added that the actor was not involved in the making due to tight schedule but they would send him a picture of the wax. Like said in the press release, the wax was made by ‘studying hundreds of photos and poring through hours of video to ensure that they capture R.Pattz’s trademark sultry expression and inimitable style’,” AceShowbiz writes.

“Robert Pattinson’s wax will join Johnny Depp’s and George Clooney’s at the VIP club on the eighth floor,” the e-zine goes on to say. Moreover, as if the pleasure of seeing the Robert wax wasn’t enough, Tussauds also throws in a bunch of awesome surprises. “The first 100 fans to arrive to see the figure will get free Pattinson and ‘Twilight’ gear as well as free admission. They have hired more security to accommodate the anticipated swarm,” explains AceShowbiz.

The public unveiling of the Robert Pattinson wax took place today, March 25, at 10.30 in the morning. Those who did not make it in the first 100 visitors should not despair: RPattz remains at Tussauds in NYC’s Times Square indeterminately – in wax form, at least.
