“Twilight” star Robert Pattinson says he still can’t understand the frenzy around the vampire film franchise – and seeing hundreds of fans at the premiere of his latest film, “Remember Me,” must have certainly not helped with his confusion. The actor, looking cute in casual wear, was faced with hundreds of screaming female fans, says the Daily Mail.

Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin are now in London, promoting the critically acclaimed drama “Remember Me,” also starring Pierce Brosnan as Pattinson’s estranged father. Though it’s a given that Robert is surrounded by screaming fans whenever he dares set foot on the red carpet (“dares” being operative word here, given his penchant for privacy and isolation), the welcome he got in London was still overwhelming by all standards, with some fans waiting for days to see him.

“London’s West End was besieged with hundreds of teenage girls last night as they clambered for a glimpse of their idol Robert Pattinson. The 23-year-old actor was greeted by screaming fans as he arrived for the Leicester Square premiere of his new film Remember Me. Some fans had camped out since Tuesday to get a prime position ahead of the star-studded screening,” the Mail writes.

Still, Robert was very kind to as many as he could, especially since a few even had posters with the numbers of hours they had waited just for a glimpse of the handsome star. “The Londoner made sure he rewarded their patience by signing autographs and posing for photos with the hysteric pubescent crowd. Modest Pattinson, dubbed RPatz by fans, admitted he was still getting used to the fan hysteria, which kicked off in 2008 when he first played vampire Edward Cullen in the first Twilight movie,” the aforementioned publication says.

Co-star Emilie de Ravin, whom fans might also know from the hit television series “Lost,” also looked very adorable in a cute Oscar de la Renta mini black dress, Brian Atwood “Loca” studded heels and, best of all, a very dashing Robert Pattinson on her arm.
