14 DAY TRIAL // The reason fans loved Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as a couple so much was because they also played one onscreen, in “The Twilight Saga.” Now that their romance has been shattered by her infidelity / “indiscretion,” Summit Entertainment is worried that the film might take a hit as well at the box office.
“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2” is the fifth and final installment in the franchise, and comes out in November this year, which means its leading stars will soon have to start promoting it on various channels.
While Summit Entertainment, the movie behind the franchise, is thinking about ways to avoid a PR crisis in the aftermath of the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, Robert is dreading the very thought he'd have to be in the same room as her.
Sources close to the actor tell celebrity blogger Perez Hilton that Pattinson is absolutely horrified that he'd have to start promoting “Breaking Dawn” soon, pretending as if nothing had happened between him and Kristen, who cheated on him with Rupert Sanders, the director of “Snow White and the Huntsman.”
“Rob is in pieces, but the Twilight love triangle storyline is nothing without him and Kristen. It is eating him up that he has no choice but to see her again because of work. His humiliation is total,” says the spy.
Summit bosses are also wringing their hands in concern that all this could blow up in their face. Until now, the three leads (Pattinson, Stewart and Taylor Lautner) would always do media rounds together, being friendly, praising each other and talking about the special bond they shared.
With Kristen breaking Robert's heart like this, it's kind of hard to keep up pretenses.
“There’s serious concern about the promotional tour, which is set to kick off in October. This is a potential nightmare for all involved. Fans look forward to seeing them together during interviews,” a studio insider says for Perez.
“It’s great publicity for the film. Robert even used to be happy to go to events with Kristen that he wasn’t contractually obligated to go to, like the Teen Choice Awards last Sunday,” the tipster adds.
For the time being, though, Robert is believed to be licking his wounds at Reese Witherspoon's ranch in California.
